国际水文科学协会（IAHS）是全球水文科学领域最权威的学术组织，IAHS自 2003 年以来已经连续启动了两轮国际十年水文计划，分别为“无测站流域水文预测”（Prediction in Ungauged Basin，PUB，2003-2012）和“ “水文和社会中的变化”（Change in Hydrology and Society，PantaRhei，2013-2022），对水文科学研究起到了重要的引领作用，在国际学术界产生了深刻和广泛的影响。当前的第三轮十年研究计划“ “共同的世界，人人参与的水文学”（Hydrology Engaging LocalPeople IN one Global world，HELPING，2023-2033）”已于今年启动，科学家们将针对目前已全球性蔓延的水危机寻求落到实处的解决方案。
连通性降低导致生态退化，威胁全球河流健康。在此背景下，国际水文科学协会建立了 “流域渐进式生态修复”工作组（Working Group: Stepwise EcologicalRestoration of Watersheds），并任命瑞士工程科学院院士、欧洲科学院外籍院士、华北水利水电大学学术副校长刘俊国教授担任工作组主席。该工作组将通过分享来自不同国家的案例研究，实现对水文和生态过程的更深入理解，建立和应用渐进式生态修复理念，确保流域水安全，促进流域生态保护与高质量发展。

Invitation to Join the International Association of Hydrological Sciences
(IAHS) Working Group "Stepwise Ecological Restoration of Watersheds"
The International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) is the most authoritative academic organization in the field of hydrological science globally. Since 2003, IAHS has launched two consecutive international decade-long hydrology programs: "Prediction in Ungauged Basin (PUB)" from 2003 to 2012 and "Change in Hydrology and Society (PantaRhei)" from 2013 to 2022. These initiatives have played a pivotal role in advancing hydrological research and have had a profound and widespread impact on the international academic community. The current third decade-long research program, "Hydrology Engaging Local People IN one Global world (HELPING)" from 2023 to 2033, has been launched this year. Scientists aim to find practical solutions to the global water crisis, which has become a pervasive issue.
Reduced connectivity is leading to ecological degradation, threatening the health of rivers worldwide. In response, the International Association of Hydrological Sciences has established the "Stepwise Ecological Restoration of Watersheds" working group, with Professor Junguo Liu, a member of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences, a foreign member of the European Academy of Sciences, and the Vice President of North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power, serving as the group's chair. This working group will deepen our understanding of hydrological and ecological processes by sharing case studies from different countries and by promoting the concept of stepwise ecological restoration. The goal is to ensure watershed water security and to advance watershed ecological protection and high-quality development.
We invite scholars and practitioners worldwide who are dedicated to ecological restoration to join the "Stepwise Ecological Restoration of Watersheds" working group. Here's how you can get involved:
